So you have questions? I’ve got the answers….

How would you best describe your style?

I shoot mainly candid as your day unfolds but if there’s especially nice light or a cool backdrop I might give gentle direction so we get the best shot. Soooo, a mixture of candid and minimal naturally prompted shots throughout the day.

What do you think if we wanted our dog as best dog?

I would think you’re the bomb! haha, anyway, I’m totally up for meeting your best friend on the wedding day, big, small, slobbery, it doesn’t matter to me! DOG HUGS! Bring any pet, I love all animals!

How many images do we get and what are the usage rights?

You will receive around 50 photos per hour (minus meal time for a full day wedding). You will also get more with a second photographer. You will be able to print and share your images with a personal rights usage. If sharing with other suppliers, magazines or businesses please get in touch for credit links and commercial usage rights.

Do you do group shots?

Yes :) I feel they are an important part of the day. The best thing to do is to figure out how much time you want to spend on group shots, then work backwards. Each photo takes around 4 minutes to organise. Couples that book me normally go for 5 group shots, sometimes less. If you decide on having a full photo of all your guests, the best time to do this is straight after your ceremony, before people head to the loo or the bar. Just leave plenty of time in your drinks reception for this. If you get stuck and need advice on planning this part of the day then I’ve got lots of tips :)

What’s your process for the couple shots?

Think of this part of the day as a nice walk and some quiet time away. I like to make it easy and quick, giving prompts to get movement and emotion. I’m not into massive staged shots that are over the top. The couple portraits should take no more than 30 minutes.

Do you offer engagement/couple sessions?

Yes! I would always recommend this session, so we can find out a bit more about each other, just chill and get some natural shots. You can even use these photos on your invitation cards or for a personal guest book.

Are you fully insured and do you have back up equipment?

I’m totally covered with full professional insurance. I bring two camera bodies with me, a selection of lenses and back up flashes. Plus both of my cameras record the images onto two memory cards at a time, just in case! I back up as soon as I get home from your wedding and don’t delete the memory cards until your full gallery has been delivered.

How long after the wedding will the photos be ready?

Your gallery will be ready in 8 weeks. I always aim to deliver sooner depending on the wedding season. You will receive a sneak peek (around 20 images) within 3 days of your wedding.

What if we would like to order an album or prints?

This part is super easy. You will find a store section inside your gallery which displays lots of options to purchase whatever you would like. The best thing about this is that you don’t have to decide on booking, you can wait until your gallery is delivered. Your friends and family can order their own products too.

Should we add a second photographer?

For larger weddings of over 80 people, different locations or if you would like both parties morning preparations covered, then a second photographer is recommended. Alternatively if you just want extra photos and from different perspectives, then a second photographer will be a good addition. I always work with a trusted photographer who is experienced in weddings.

How do we book?

Just get in touch emma@emmadonaldson.co.uk or fill out a contact form to request to book. A 25% non-refundable booking fee will be due to confirm your date, with the final balance due 3 weeks before your wedding .

Can we have an online chat with you to find out more?

Let’s do this!
